D.L. Hawkins

D.L. Hawkins has the ability to phase through solid objects. While being questioned by police, D.L. snaps when an arrogant officer makes a crude remark about Niki. D.L. unwittingly phases out of his handcuffs and nearly chokes the man. Later, after at least one failed attempt, D.L. manages to phase out of his jail cell.
- D.L. seems to have become much more adept with his powers. He easily uses them to spy on others and enter Niki's home while it was under guard by the police. He can even use his power combatively, though not without certain dangers to his opponent, as is seen in the fight scene between him and Niki. When Hawkins passes through something, its surface will warp slightly, like a liquid in slow-motion. D.L.'s actions indicate that he may not be able to phase anything but himself and his clothes through solid objects. However, Peter Petrelli exhibited this ability when he used it to phase himself and Adam out of their holding cells within the company. It appears that Adam was able to phase through objects as long as he maintained contact with the user. (i.e - putting his hand on Peter's shoulder).
- D.L. has the ability to phase part or most of his body while allowing portions of his body to fully materialize and interact with the real world. For example, on at least two occasions, he phased his arm to pass through a door, then re-materialized only his hand to turn the door lock, and then phased his hand once more to pull it out of the door.

- Upon the end of Season 1, Niki was given a perscrption to help with her split personality disorder. The side effects of the pills caused Niki to stop taking them. As a result, another personality emerged named Gina. This personality is not violent like Jessica, but tended to be more playful and "easy".
- When Niki was supposed to go to her first day of work, Gina emerged and instead went to a night club. D.L tracked Gina down to this night club and attempted to bring Niki home. At the time, Niki was dancing with an unsavory man who was less then thrilled to see D.L. A brief fight ensued in which the man attempted to punch D.L however, D.L allowed this punch to phase through his head. With the man being embarassed at the missed punch, he sought revenge on D.L. He murdered D.L by shooting him as he was exiting from the club. Since D.L was caught off guard by the gun, he was unable to allow the bullet to phase through him, resulting in his death.
