God
From Activating Evolution
The name God refers to the deity held by monotheists to be the supreme reality. God is believed to be the sole creator of the Universe. As of 2007, a majority of human beings generally believe in a monotheistic God, usually in some form of the Abrahamic God of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The unifying monotheistic conception of Brahman prevailing in the henotheistic belief system of Hinduism is also significant as a representative element in humanity's belief in a supreme God.
[edit] Evolution
Opinions are divided on what role God plays in evolution. Some claim that He directly influences every stage in the development of a species; being omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent, He can forsee the ultimate results of any change to the DNA of a creature and thus guides the development of each organism towards His pre-ordained design. Others dispute this, suggesting that mutation is truly random, and that God - if He so exists - is as interested in what comes next as the next all-powerful entity.
If the former is the case, it remains to be seen what His selection criteria is for gifting individuals with anomalistic abilities.
