Longevity is the ability to live longer than any normal human. This ability usually occurs when the cells of the user of the ability die and regenerate at an equal rate, thus halting the aging process and keeping the user of the ability in a state of biological stasis, in which their bodies do not suffer the crippling effects of age, disease or death. Although it is possible that the person can be killed (and thus they are not immortal), it is extremely difficult to do so. Only Adam Monroe is known to possess this ability.
