From Activating Evolution
If in fact Matt Parkman's wife is pregnant with his child, that child will be of interest to PrimaTech and the people behind them. It can therefore be assumed that the child will be of interest to Angela Petrelli, the Haitian, and the people behind them.
This raises a question, what power does Matt's wife possess? So far we've only seen powers passed on to offspring when both parents exhibit signs of Accelerated Evolution. (Nikki and DL with Micah, and Nathan and Meredith Gordon with Claire Bennet)

Seems to me Matt locked his father inside his fathers own mind, not a mental institution. Matt's father is physically locked away in a PrimaTech holding cell. His mind is a prisoner of Matt.
